Who Are We?
Nefertum was founded by Ben Talty and Fletcher Baker after travelling to Egypt, where they developed a deep appreciation for the culture, craftsmanship, and traditional methods used in perfume oil production.
They were particularly impressed by the quality, longevity and care involved in how the oils were made an approach that felt considered, intentional and enduring.
Nefertum was created to introduce that standard of craftsmanship to Australia while continuing to grow and build a modern fragrance brand focused on consistency, quality and long-term growth.
Every product reflects a commitment to thoughtful design, refined scent profiles and a brand built to last.
Why did you start Nefertum?
Nefertum came to life during our trip to Egypt last year, a destination that had been on our bucket list since we started traveling. We make it a point to go on a trip every off-season, and this particular adventure was especially inspiring. Named after the god of beauty and aromatherapy, Nefertum represents the culmination of ideas that fell into place perfectly, giving birth to our brand.
What are your favourite memories from Egypt?
The pyramids were the main reason we wanted to visit Egypt, especially since we didn't know anyone who had been before. Our journey took us south of Cairo and then onto Luxor. The Nile River was fascinating, and we enjoyed a cruise on felluca boats. We then ventured to Hurghada, where we stayed by the beautiful Red Sea.
